Writing a narrative story

The Learning Intension was: To write a narrative story. 

We had made a plan using mind map for our narrative story. We wrote a story about James and the Kidnapper. Our story is based on a Kidnapper that steels James family just for him to get the USB from James.  

Elephant Toothpaste - Science Planning House

This is my DLO about the Elephant Toothpaste.  The experiment was really interesting looking how the chemical reaction happened in the Elephant Toothpaste. A chemical reaction is when you can't undo it. 

ANZAC Poem

Our learning for today is based on ANZAC. We picked out sentences and information from the poem that tells what the main idea is. To help us find this we need to:

• Think about author’s purpose (PIE)
• Look at the title
• Look at the pictures
• Look at the first and last sentence
• Look for repetition of words/phrases

Mathletics

For maths we played a game called Mathletics, I partnered up with Victoria for the game. There was 24 question that we have to answer in time to come first, second or third. The people that came first was Juanita and Evelyn also the team that came second was Cecilia and Jessie and the people that came third was Victoria and I. We have to run down to the end of court then back up again then answer the question. It was really fun and Thank you to Miss Donaldson for keeping an eye on us.

Design Process

LS2 had went to tech and we were split into 3 groups. One of the Year 8 group went to 3D printing. My desighn process we had done first when we came was a design brief - Client + Wanted. Research - Jewelry. Concept ideas - 6 different ideas. Design development drawing (change) and positive + Improvement.

Exploring two point of view

Ana and I had to pick a role based on the current event called The Auckland Bus. Ana's Role was the boss and I was the bus driver. We used Bias is a point of view. It is really important to look at both sides of the story. A provocation is when you want to make an informed choice. A Provocation means an action or speech that triggers strong feelings about a topic. 

Current Events: Auckland Bus Strikes

Today Victoria and I have created a D.L.O about the bus strike that happened 2 months ago. We used our skimming and scanning skills to find interesting information and adding it to our D.L.O. We had collaborated in our current events and added a point of view about what the bus drivers opinion were compared to the pubic's opinion. 

Quick Write Rotation

The first writing this term was awesome. We had to write a introduction based on the picture. We had draft to with draft.

Fantastic Fact Challenge

I have finished of a reading can do. The fantastic challenge is used for my searching skills. The topic I had picked was about recycling.

Planning A Narrative Story

Me and my partner Victoria had plan about a story that was about James Bond had to find the USB that the kidnapper needed so they could let James Bonds family go. The story was called James Bond And The Kidnapper. For our hook we picked a sound it's when you start with a sound for example: Bang! or Cluck!

I had made a DLO on How I feel about solving maths problems.  This was one of my can do's to finish of. How I feel about solving maths problems is that I feel like I am learning something new every time.

Tech - Graphics

At Tech we had made a project for a person we may want to give as a present to. We had started off as a practice with a plastic dough just to start of on what will we be making. As we got our dough I have to make a portrait of what I am making  for the person I want to give it to. It was really easy and fun working on this project as I learned a lot of new start.

Spelling results

L.I: Is to improve in our reading.

For my spelling I played game and came out with some great results.Doing spelling could really help me with my reading whenever I don't know any words, playing these spelling games really helped me. I had learned about things all about auto in it for example: Everyone that was a fan of Ariana Grande asked for an autograph. My results had came out really good I was was really happy of myself I had tried my best.
