For this DLO I have picked out a picture of myself trying out the long jump and got a picture of a professional athlete doing the long jump. In comparison we have the the same position in landing. We both landed in a motorcycle landing which really helps you balance on your foot.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson, Ms Naicker and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Maths Competition
Today for maths we went on quizezz which is a maths site. The whole class went on the site and we were competitive. We were so competitive to be at least be first, second or third. This really helped us with our maths. We had a lot of fun to start with but then went competitive between 2 people. The equations were really easy but went harder and harder. We had to work in partner and I was with Victoria. We at least got over 14th place.

Stig Wemyss
On Friday afternoon we were invited to see Stig Wemyss in the Panmure library. Stig Wemyss is a voice artist. He used his voice to read Andy Griffin's books. There is a borrow box in the Panmure library. There is an app called borrow box that allows digital and audio book borrowing. Stig Wymess used his humor to hook us in. He was giving out prizes to who ever was going in the front and do an activity. The prizes were a dvd with a CD in it which was Stig Wymess reading Andy Griffan's books.

Read Theory
For reading we always start with reading on a site called readtheory.org. We read for 20 minutes just to warm us up also to increase in our reading. The site gives us a text to read and we have to understand the text before we answer. I always have to think about what the question is asking me to do. When I answer my question I will always look back at the text just to make sure I have the right answer. Reading on this site really helps me increase in my reading.

Ripper Rugby Inter-school
For ripper rugby inter-school we played 6 games and went against 5 schools. We got some help from Our first game, we had a draw against Bailey Road which was 3 - 3. Our next game was against Pt England and our score was 2-7 which was hard luck for our team. Later that minute we went for our third game and our opponents were Tamaki Primary it was a pretty hard game but we ended up winning by one point, our score was 2-3. Next was our fourth game was against Sylvia Park it was the hardest game we went through but unluckily we lost by 2 point and our score were 3-5. Our last game was against Glen Brae and unluckily we lost by 3 scores. We just found out we a final game which was against Sylvia Park again and we had won 5-3. We would like to say thank you to the helpers from Otahuhu college for teaching us skills for ripper rugby. Also thank you to Mr Ogalvie for supervising us. It was a good game and we learnt a lot of new skills also we collaborated and cheered the other teams on.
